Patina lessons in Fresnay-sur-Sarthe
In the Mancelles Alps, a place renowned as one of the finest areas of natural beauty, the medieval town of Fresnay-sur-Sarthe, perched on a buttress overlooking the river Sarthe is a delightful place for all the family. In a property dating back to the 19th century, the two spacious rooms are both fitted to modern high standards and a warm welcome is assured. The estate has also a private garden and a swimming pool. But you will also have the opportunity to attend painting and patchwork courses as well as a lesson that covers the patina techniques to revive old furniture. With a medieval favour
In July and August, Mayanne Priory offers 5 high quality musical gatherings in a venue where music is particularly well valued. We invite you to take advantage of this event and to appreciate the gentle music of life in Sarthe. The concert is held at the end of the afternoon, so, if you arrive a little earlier, you will be able to visit the surrounding countryside and the City of Character of Beaumont-sur-Sarthe. Your accommodation in Juillé sur Sarthe, about ten kilometres from Mayanne Priory, is a manor house which has been converted by its owners into a delightful 4-bedroom bed & breakfast. The nearby restaurants offer some enjoyable meals. The next day, take advantage of your visit in Sarthe to enjoy the Donjon de Ballon Gardens, view the summer exhibition at Saint-Julien Priory in Saint-Marceau, or discover the natural listed site of the Mancelles Alps, the National Forest of Perseigne or the Plantagenet City of Le Mans.

At the Relais de la Charnie, friendly and family-oriented countryside hotel, learn all the secrets of Stéphane Coadic, companion of duty experienced in gastronomy who has done his tour de France in Relais et Châteaux. Foie Gras, lobster, sorbet, tarts, Petit Sarthois... he will initiate you to the pleasures of a refined, simple and original cuisine. These training courses are intended to groups of 2 to 6 individuals over one morning and the cuisine theme varies with the seasons and the menu of the day. Take advantage of this course to discover the charms of the West of Sarthe, the national forest of the Petite Charnie, the national forest of Sillé and its lake and forest house will be a delight for those who enjoy walking, horse riding and mountain biking.
