On the borders of Maine and Touraine, the state-owned Forest of Bercé represents, in the eyes of forestry workers, one of the most prestigious oak forests in France. They are not the only ones to remark on this with the «cru Bercé» also being greatly appreciated by the winemakers of Bordeaux for making the casks in which they mature their wines.
