Le Mans

The surroundings of Le Mans are marked by the diversity of landscapes. To the north and west, the bocage dominates. In the centre of Le Mans, the Sarthe and Huisne rivers meet in an area of land covered with wet grasslands, peat bogs and swamps. Towards the southeast of the area, expanses of maritime pine forest gradually give way to the Forest of Bercé, one of the most magnificient of France.
