Built between the 11th and 15th centuries, the building presents a variety of styles from Romanesque to Gothic. One of the largest cathedrals in France, along with Notre-Dame de Chartres, saint Julien has one of the most impressive collections of medieval stained glass windows. the Concert of Angels, pained on the vaulted roof of the Chapelle de la Vierge, is a model of Western Gothic painting.
