The River Sarthe and Solesmes Abbey |
Gateway to the West, the River Sarthe has given its name to a gentle Valley between Le Mans and Angers. The viewpoints over the river succeed one another from the Moulin de Fillé to the Sablé-Solesmes golf course. Due to earth rich in clay, Malicorne became one of the most important city of potters in France.
Discover the Sarthe Valley: Malicorne, labelled "Ville et Métiers d'Art". Visit the city of potters and its two museums entirely dedicated to earthenware: Malicorne Espace Faïence and Faïenceries d'Art de Malicorne. Nature trails: the state-owned Forest of La Petite Charnie, the 'CPIE' Vallée de la Sarthe et du Loir and the "Nature et Balade Association" propose thematic walks and all sorts of activities.
