Overlooking the banks of Sarthe, Saint Pierre de Solesmes Abbey is the mecca of Gregorian chant. Monastic life is dictated by the celebration of seven chanted religious services, from Matins at 5.30am to Complins, the last service of the day. Hearing it sung at mass in the abbey church is an unforgettable experience. The abbey also has two groups of statues known as the "Saints de Solesmes" to admire.
