Founded by the Benedectine Abbey of Marmoutier in 1060, the priory "Saint-Hippolyte" of Vivoin is a major example of religious architecture in the Haut-Maine. Its construction was completed in the 16th century, thereby combining Roman, Gothic and Renaissance architecture styles. Thanks to the locals in 1965, its salvaging is an initial demonstration of interest in the heritage. It is a location for the spread, practice and training of cultural activities, and it also houses a museum of life in the past run by the Haut Maine Rural Animation Centre.
